About Claire Cordon

For more than 25 years, Claire Cordon has focused on employment law — counseling employers on their responsibilities and employees on their rights.

Claire Cordon In 2007, Claire Cordon established her own law practice to focus on strategic employment law counsel, including independent investigations of employment complaints including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, and workplace misconduct.

She also provides expert witness services on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants, out-of-court mediation, and professional training of employers and employees to proactively educate them regarding proper workplace conduct — thereby decreasing the likelihood of complaints.

Claire Cordon recently completed the highly regarded Executive Leadership Program at the Seattle University Albers School of Business and Economics. This 20-credit program focused on the values that guide executive decision-making in a business environment – with an emphasis on leadership, teamwork and business ethics.

Before opening her own practice, Claire Cordon represented employers and employees as head of the employment law department at Keller Rohrback LLP, a law firm with offices in Seattle, WA and Phoenix, AZ. In this capacity, she litigated significant individual and class-action discrimination cases in federal and state courts. She also provided her clients from a broad range of industries with advice, investigative services and training.

From 1990 to 2000, Claire Cordon represented claimants as a Senior Trial Attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission – the federal agency that enforces the laws against discrimination in employment. She litigated individual and class-action cases before federal courts in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. As a result, she brings an insider's perspective to how the EEOC looks at and responds to employment claims.

Because of her vast experience as an employment law attorney focusing on workplace misconduct issues, Claire Cordon is familiar with both the employer and claimant side of complaints. She can bring a truly neutral approach to the investigation process. When faced with a workplace misconduct issue, she has the experience, judgment and impartiality sought by both employers and employees.

Claire Cordon has served in a number of leadership positions, including president of the Northwest Women’s Law Center (now Legal Voice), Washington Women Lawyers and the Young Lawyers Division of the Washington State Bar Association.

Claire Cordon has also served on two Washington State Bar Association committees that focus on these issues – the Lawyer Discipline Committee and the Character and Fitness Committee.

Claire Cordon is an honors graduate of Gonzaga University Law School and Georgetown University. She was a judicial clerk for the Hon. J. Ben McInturff of Division III of the State of Washington Court of Appeals. in 2014, Claire Cordon opened an office in Arizona. She is a member of the Arizona and Washington State Bar Associations.
